stc group returned as strategic partner of LEAP for the fifth consecutive year, building its stand around sector-specific deployments from freight networks and tourism destinations to stadiums and construction sites.

stc group returned as strategic partner of LEAP for a fifth consecutive year, taking the position it has held at every edition of the Riyadh show since it began. The stand was organised around sectors rather than products. Rather than a wall of network and cloud services, stc set out how its infrastructure is used inside specific operations — freight networks, tourism destinations, stadiums and construction sites — which is a marketing choice that reflects where operator revenue growth has to come from. Connectivity sold as a commodity is a shrinking business with a falling price per bit. Connectivity sold as part of a logistics operator's tracking system, or a stadium's crowd and access infrastructure, is a different contract with a different margin, and it is the transition every large regional operator is attempting. Chief executive Olayan Alwetaid used the show to set out the group's work with HUMAIN, describing a partnership organised around three areas: data centre infrastructure, connectivity and go-to-market. That third element is the one that says most about the arrangement. Data centre and connectivity cooperation between an operator and a national AI company is the obvious part — HUMAIN needs power, space and fibre, and stc has all three. Joint go-to-market means something more specific: stc selling HUMAIN's capacity and services into its own enterprise customer base rather than simply hosting them. That is a sensible division of labour. HUMAIN is a young company with an enormous infrastructure programme and no established enterprise sales channel in the kingdom. stc has spent decades building relationships with exactly the ministries, banks and industrial operators that will buy sovereign AI capacity. The partnership sits alongside the wider structure of the national programme, in which the communications ministry and HUMAIN signed a framework agreement on AI infrastructure at this same event. Being strategic partner of LEAP is itself a commercial position rather than a courtesy. It buys stand location, branding across the venue and speaking slots, and for a national operator it also signals that the country's flagship technology event runs on its infrastructure. The show reported more than 200,000 attendees across four days , all of them generating traffic on networks somebody has to provision. No commercial terms have been published for the sponsorship, and stc has not put a value on the HUMAIN partnership or disclosed which of the three workstreams is furthest advanced. The go-to-market element in particular is described without a named customer, a revenue share or a start date. The wider regional context is that operators have been repositioning towards infrastructure services for several years, with mixed results. Some have built genuine data centre and cloud businesses; others have rebranded a hosting division. The test for stc is whether the sector-specific work on display translates into multi-year contracts with the freight, tourism and construction operators it is aiming at, or remains a demonstration of capability. Operators have been showing sector solutions at trade shows for a decade; the ones that matter show up later as disclosed revenue lines. TechScoop is reporting from LEAP 2026 in Riyadh.
