Qatar healthtech startup iQtech raises its first funding round from Selexi and Yuniro to scale EsculapioVR, an AI powered XR platform for medical training.

Healthtech startup iQtech has secured its first funding round to accelerate the growth of its extended reality (XR) based medical training platform, signaling rising investor interest in immersive technologies for healthcare education across the Middle East. The round was backed by Selexi, a European provider of computer based testing solutions, and Yuniro, a deep tech company operating between Italy and Qatar. Financial terms of the investment were not publicly disclosed.

The funding marks an important milestone for the early stage startup as it seeks to scale its technology and expand partnerships with healthcare institutions in the region. In addition to capital, the investors are expected to contribute technical expertise in digital assessment systems and advanced technology development, helping the company strengthen the platform’s analytical and performance evaluation capabilities.

Founded in 2025 by Nassim Davide Sidaoui, iQtech focuses on developing immersive digital training solutions that combine artificial intelligence with extended reality (XR) technologies, including virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR). The company’s flagship product, EsculapioVR, is designed to provide medical professionals and students with realistic simulation environments where they can practice clinical procedures, decision making, and technical skills without risk to patients.

The platform integrates high fidelity 3D simulations with AI-driven performance analytics, allowing institutions to evaluate trainees based on objective metrics such as procedural accuracy, response time, and adherence to clinical protocols. This approach aims to move beyond traditional medical training models by offering data driven assessment tools that can help educators measure competency more effectively.

As healthcare systems worldwide increasingly adopt simulation based education, XR technology has gained attention for its ability to recreate complex medical scenarios in controlled digital environments. By leveraging these technologies, iQtech aims to support medical universities, hospitals, and professional training programs seeking scalable and repeatable training solutions.

The newly secured investment will be used to enhance product development, strengthen the company’s technology infrastructure, and expand market adoption across Qatar and the wider Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The company also plans to further develop the AI components of its platform to deliver more detailed performance insights and personalized training pathways for healthcare professionals.

iQtech is part of the innovation ecosystem at Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP), a research and startup hub that supports technology ventures through infrastructure, mentorship, and commercialization support. The startup has leveraged the ecosystem to develop its technology and establish early industry connections within the healthcare and education sectors.

The investment reflects broader regional momentum around digital health and immersive training technologies, particularly as governments and healthcare institutions explore new ways to modernize medical education and improve workforce readiness.

With its first institutional backing now secured, iQtech is preparing to expand the deployment of its EsculapioVR platform and deepen collaboration with medical institutions across the region, positioning itself at the intersection of healthtech, edtech, and immersive technologies.
