Dubai’s GITEX 2025 becomes a hub for global dialogue on AI-native futures

DUBAI — OpenAI, Microsoft, and Abu Dhabi-based G42 will headline GITEX Global 2025, leading a landmark series of discussions focused on how artificial intelligence can be embedded across governments, industries, and communities.

A highlight of the event will be a fireside chat between Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, and Peng Xiao, CEO of G42, under the theme “From Early Adoption to AI-Native Societies: Envisioning the Next Era of Intelligence.” The session will outline the roadmap for national-scale AI integration, data governance, and cross-sector collaboration. It forms part of the G42 AI-Native Societies Programme, which brings together policymakers, researchers, and private-sector leaders to explore the design of future AI-driven economies.

The G42 District in Hall 6 will feature live demonstrations from across G42’s portfolio, including Core42, Khazna, M42, Presight, CPX, Inception, Space42, and AIQ, showcasing how AI is being used in healthcare, energy, security, and enterprise systems. Global partners such as Microsoft, Oracle, Cisco, and Cerebras will also take part, highlighting responsible development and large-scale infrastructure strategies.

Key sessions on the GITEX main stage include HE Eng. Shadi Malak, CEO of Etihad Rail, presenting “The Middle East’s Mega Infrastructures: Economic Autonomy in the Age of AI,” moderated by Jane Witherspoon of Euronews. Another panel, “Can AI Redefine PPPs as Resilient Urban Innovation Engines,” will explore how artificial intelligence can support sustainable city planning. Microsoft will host “Azure Essentials: Innovate with AI Apps and Agents,” offering insights into developing AI applications through Azure Cloud services (GITEX Agenda).

GITEX 2025 will also showcase major initiatives such as the UAE-US 5 GW AI Campus, one of the largest planned AI infrastructure hubs outside the United States. G42 will present its Global Intelligence Grid, a framework for linking AI systems across countries while maintaining data sovereignty and security .

The Government of Abu Dhabi will also announce 55 AI projects and 80 partnerships, demonstrating how AI is being applied across public services, sustainability, and transport infrastructure.

More than 180 countries will be represented at GITEX Global 2025, with global leaders, investors, and innovators expected to take part in shaping how artificial intelligence will define future economies and societies.
