At LEAP 2026, center3, stc Group's digital-infrastructure arm, showcased its role as the backbone beneath Saudi Arabia's AI ambitions, developing AI-ready data-centre capacity from 250 megawatts and announcing a power partnership to build at scale.
center3 at LEAP 2026 has emerged as one of the clearest illustrations of Saudi Arabia's strategy to build the physical foundation of the AI era, because while much of the conference talks about artificial intelligence, center3 is building the infrastructure that makes it possible. The digital-infrastructure subsidiary of STC Group, a strategic partner of LEAP for the fifth consecutive year, used the Riyadh event to showcase its role as the backbone beneath the Kingdom's soaring AI ambitions. What center3 does places it at the heart of the AI supply chain. Artificial intelligence ultimately runs on physical machines housed in data centres and linked by networks, and center3 provides exactly that, operating carrier-neutral data centres, international connectivity, internet-exchange services and subsea cable landing across the region. At LEAP 2026, stc outlined how center3 is developing AI-ready data-centre capacity starting at 250 megawatts, part of a wider goal to reach one gigawatt by 2030. That build-out is backed by roughly 3 billion dollars already invested and a planned further 10 billion dollars for high-density, hyperscaler-ready facilities across Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and beyond. The progress on display showed execution, not just planning. center3 announced a data-centre development partnership with the Saudi Electricity Project Development Company, directly addressing power, the single biggest constraint on AI infrastructure. As stc chief executive Olayan Alwetaid explained, STC's partnership with HUMAIN rests on data-centre infrastructure, connectivity and go-to-market, and center3 delivers the first two, making it foundational to the sovereign AI build-out that keeps compute and data inside the Kingdom. Its work anchors the broader wave of data-centre investment defining LEAP 2026. The honest caveat is that gigawatt-scale ambitions and multibillion-dollar plans must still be delivered, filled and run profitably, amid questions about global data-centre oversupply. But center3 at LEAP 2026 is a substantive story, and by pouring capital into the data centres, power partnerships and connectivity that AI genuinely depends upon, center3 is quietly powering the region's digital backbone, the essential infrastructure without which the Kingdom's louder AI ambitions could not exist.
