About Replit
Replit runs a browser-based platform for writing, running and deploying software, which it presents as an AI platform for turning ideas into apps, websites, dashboards and prototypes. It began as an online coding environment and is headquartered in Foster City, California, according to its March 2026 funding announcement.
The company was founded in 2016 by Amjad Masad, Faris Masad and designer Haya Odeh. Amjad Masad, who is from Jordan, is founder and chief executive, and Haya Odeh is vice president of design. Its leadership page also lists Michele Catasta as president, Luis Héctor Chávez as chief technology officer and Ghazi Masood as chief revenue officer.
Replit introduced Replit Agent, an AI agent that builds applications from plain-language instructions, in September 2024, and launched Agent 4 in March 2026. Replit says it has more than 500,000 professional users, and Georgian's release reports more than 50 million users overall and integrations with Salesforce, HubSpot, Snowflake, AWS, Google Cloud, Slack and Jira. Named customers include Zillow, Databricks, PayPal, Adobe, Labcorp, Atlassian and Talkdesk.
Microsoft began offering Replit on Azure in 2025, and TechCrunch described Replit as a close Google Cloud partner. On 25 September 2026 Replit acquired Atta, a business analysis and charting start-up founded by Omar Shaik and Amine Ben Khalifa, on undisclosed terms, and launched interactive charts in Replit chat the same day.
Replit raised an $80 million Series B in December 2021 and, according to TechCrunch, about $100 million at a $1.16 billion valuation in 2023. In September 2025 it raised $250 million at a $3 billion valuation in a round led by Prysm Capital, and said annualized revenue had risen from $2.8 million to $150 million in under a year. In March 2026 Georgian led a $400 million Series D at a $9 billion valuation, with Andreessen Horowitz, Coatue and the Qatar Investment Authority among the participants. Replit said the money would go mainly to international expansion, especially in Asia and the Middle East.
Its security page says Replit holds a SOC 2 Type II report, complies with GDPR and is working toward ISO 27001 certification.
