About فودباندا
Foodpanda is an online food and grocery delivery brand owned by Delivery Hero, the Berlin-based listed delivery company. Wikipedia gives its founding as 2012 in Singapore by the Swiss founders Lukas Nagel and Rico Wyder, and says Delivery Hero acquired it in full in December 2016 for an undisclosed price. LinkedIn lists its headquarters as Singapore.
Wikipedia lists Foodpanda's current markets as Bangladesh, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore and Taiwan. Delivery Hero announced in April 2025 that it would close the Thailand operation, which stopped on 23 May 2025 after 13 years; Thailand Business News cited intense competition, rising costs and heavy losses.
On 23 March 2026 Delivery Hero agreed to sell its Foodpanda business in Taiwan to Grab for USD 600 million in cash on a cash and debt free basis, subject to regulatory approvals including merger control. The company gave the Taiwan business's 2025 gross merchandise value as EUR 1.5 billion, with positive adjusted EBITDA before group cost allocation. On 21 October 2026 Delivery Hero said the Taiwan Fair Trade Commission would not approve the sale. The release states that the decision does not affect the right to appeal and that Delivery Hero has deal protections, including a break fee arrangement.
In July 2026 Delivery Hero entered a business combination agreement with Uber, under which Uber plans a public takeover offer of EUR 41.50 per share; the release does not mention Foodpanda. TechScoop's July 2026 report on the deal names Foodpanda as one of Delivery Hero's brands, alongside Talabat.
