Its marketplaces, which include Wolt and Deliveroo, operate in more than 40 countries, according to its FY2025 annual report. The company is headquartered in San Francisco, California, and had more than 31,400 employees at the end of 2025.

DoorDash was founded in 2013 and incorporated as Palo Alto Delivery Inc. before taking its current name in 2015. Merchants can use delivery, pickup, direct online ordering and advertising tools. Its site lists Target, ALDI, Walgreens and The Home Depot among its partners. The filing says the platform is primarily hosted on Amazon Web Services.

DoorDash listed on the New York Stock Exchange on 9 December 2020 at $102 a share, raising a reported $3.4 billion, and its shares now trade on Nasdaq as DASH. It completed its acquisition of Deliveroo on 2 October 2025 in a deal Gulf News valued at about GBP 2.9 billion; Deliveroo UAE became part of DoorDash, and Wolt co-founder Miki Kuusi was named Deliveroo's chief executive. DoorDash closed Deliveroo's Qatar operations in March 2026.

For 2025 the company reported revenue of $13.7 billion, up 28 percent, net income of $935 million, 3.2 billion orders and $102 billion of marketplace gross order value.

On 30 September 2026 it introduced DashOS, which links its marketplace, direct ordering, reservations, loyalty and marketing tools for restaurants and draws on SevenRooms, and DoorDash Air, a purpose-built drone delivery system with pilots in Northern California and launch partners Chipotle, Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen and Momo N Curry.
