Moroccan startup YouCan launches Mochi, an AI agent that lets merchants set up and run an online store by text or voice chat. The company announced the agent in early November 2026 after a limited rollout that began in early October. Mochi is integrated into the YouCan e-commerce platform and is designed to handle store configuration, product listings, landing pages, promotions and basic performance analysis through conversation. Merchants can ask Mochi to configure a store, generate landing pages, create product sheets and visuals, launch promotions or set up discount coupons. The agent also reviews store activity to support decisions. Voice messages are available alongside text. Changes requested through the chat are shown for review before they are applied, so the merchant retains control. Some creations and modifications can be undone within 24 hours. YouCan said the agent had already been tested and adopted by nearly 4,000 online stores during the early-October rollout. The company plans a wider public release during November 2026. No separate pricing for Mochi was disclosed in the announcement. The feature sits on top of the existing YouCan platform, which covers store creation, payment acceptance, order confirmation, delivery and fulfillment. Zouhir Bahij, CEO and co-founder of YouCan, said the company’s aim remains to make entrepreneurship accessible to more people and that artificial intelligence now allows deeper simplification of e-commerce tools. The announcement frames Mochi as a step that reduces the technical knowledge required to launch and operate a store. YouCan was founded in 2020 and is based in Rabat. It positions itself as an integrated platform for merchants who need store-building, payments and logistics services in one place. The company has also introduced support for the Model Context Protocol, which allows compatible external AI assistants to connect to a YouCan store after the merchant grants permission. This is separate from the built-in Mochi agent. The public launch timeline and the number of stores that have already used Mochi are the main figures published so far. The announcement does not include usage statistics beyond the roughly 4,000 stores, revenue impact or a detailed comparison with other platform assistants. For merchants the practical change is an additional way to request store setup and day-to-day actions without moving between multiple dashboard sections. The value of Mochi depends on whether the public release maintains the same review-and-approve control and whether merchants continue to use it after the wider launch. Other e-commerce platforms have added AI assistants for product descriptions, image generation or campaign suggestions. YouCan’s version combines those tasks with store configuration and promotion setup inside its own platform and adds voice input. If the next update from YouCan reports public-launch numbers, merchant retention of the agent or any measured reduction in setup time, the feature has a measurable follow-through. If the next statement only restates that Mochi is available, the change for the market remains the same as the early-November announcement. The figures missing from the current disclosure are post-launch adoption, any pricing or plan details for the agent, and measured outcomes such as time saved or conversion changes. The launch is one step in a Moroccan e-commerce platform’s effort to lower the technical barrier for merchants who want to start and run an online store.
