Platformance launched Ads Inside Intelligence on 17 September, live in 13 MENA markets including the UAE and Saudi Arabia. The tool scores how often a brand appears in ChatGPT answers, then sells a sponsored card underneath.
Ads Inside Intelligence is Platformance’s bet that the next media plan starts inside the answer, not on the results page. The Dubai company said on 17 September 2026 that the product is live for brands and agencies in 13 MENA markets, including the UAE and Saudi Arabia. It does two jobs in one dashboard. First it shows, question by question, how often a brand is mentioned or cited when people ask ChatGPT about a category. Then it lets the brand buy a sponsored card under that answer: reinforce the conversations it already sits in, or walk into the ones it is missing. That is the punch. Paid and organic have shared a search page for twenty years. The page is no longer where a lot of category research finishes. Waseem Afzal, founder and chief executive, put it in one line. Brands learned how to work those two levers on Google. That is not where the decision gets made any more. His product is built for ChatGPT because that inventory opened first, and designed, he says, to follow the next models that turn ads on. The first campaign is supposed to take minutes. A brand enters a website. The software drafts markets, conversation topics and copy, and shows a preview of the card as it would appear in a chat. Every campaign starts paused. Nothing spends until someone hits approve. The regional rollout did not land as a single switch. Access opened to advertisers around 31 August and kept widening into early September. Platformance says some leading regional brands are already live and that early learning looks strong. It did not name those brands, publish a lift figure, or list all 13 markets beyond the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Treat the results claim as a founder line until a case study shows spend, mention share and what happened after the card appeared. OpenAI’s own ad machine is the reason this product exists. The lab began testing ads in ChatGPT in the United States in February 2026 for logged-in adults on Free and Go. Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Education stay ad-free in that design. Ads sit below the reply, labelled as sponsored, matched to the meaning of a conversation rather than to typed keywords, and are not supposed to rewrite the model’s answer. Platformance’s announcement repeats OpenAI’s claim that the ads business hit a 1 billion dollar annualised run rate in under 200 days. Other public snapshots earlier in the year cited a faster first 100 million dollars annualised and a self-serve ads manager. Those are OpenAI numbers, not Platformance revenue. Afzal is not a first-time regional seller. He spent years at Omnicom, then ran TikTok ads monetisation in the Middle East, then bootstrapped Platformance and holding company Fast Ventures from Dubai Internet City. An earlier company note put more than 200 advertisers on the platform across Saudi Arabia, the UAE and the wider region. Ads Inside Intelligence is the move from buying the old platforms to measuring and buying the new answer box. The MENA angle is inventory timing, not another innovation district. Gulf marketers already spend heavily on search, social and retail media while Arabic commercial questions drift into chat. A Dubai layer that scores mention share and places a card under the reply is a way to stay in that shift without waiting for a local model to open an ads API. It is also a dependency. The rules, the eligible user tiers and the next country list belong to OpenAI. If Plus users never see ads, a large slice of high-intent research stays dark. If the model’s organic answer names a competitor and the card cannot change that sentence, the brand is paying to sit under bad news. Caveats should travel with the launch. Visibility reports are only as good as the prompt set. Conversation targeting is fuzzier than a keyword. Unnamed “leading brands” and “tremendous results” are not a media audit. Thirteen markets sounds wide until you know which ones still lack self-serve billing, Arabic creative review or agency seats. Platformance says the stack can extend to other LLMs. That is a roadmap sentence. If mention share and the card start moving the same way paid and organic did on search, this product becomes the regional cockpit for answer-era spend. If ChatGPT ads stay a US-and-allies channel with a MENA overlay, it is a useful dashboard on borrowed inventory. The next proof is a named advertiser and a before-and-after on the questions that actually matter.
