Abu Dhabi-based game studio Hypemasters announced it has closed a USD 1 million investment round led by Saudi strategic backer Impact46, with significant participation from regional investor GEM Capital. The company said the new capital will support its push into additional mid-core, competitive strategy titles and regional expansion. The financing publicized in a release by Impact46 positions the studio to accelerate development on multiple projects currently in soft launch and to scale live-ops for its flagship strategy title.
Founded in 2019, Hypemasters operates development hubs across the US, Europe and the UAE. The studio has built its profile around real time PvP strategy games, with its marquee product World War Armies serving as a central growth driver. According to PocketGamer, the title has reached more than seven million players across mobile and PC storefronts, reflecting steady traction within the strategy genre.
Impact46 has been an active investor in the region’s gaming vertical, deploying millions across early-stage studios and esports ventures. Its gaming focused fund targets teams that can translate local creative talent into globally scalable content. The Hypemasters round aligns with that strategy and comes amid a wider trend of Middle East venture firms investing in mid-core and multiplayer titles aimed at international audiences.
According to Wamda, Hypemasters plans to use the capital to expand product teams, increase live ops and marketing capacity for existing titles, and accelerate the launch of new projects slated for 2026. The studio’s leadership said the round will help sustain development momentum for its current live games while funding R&D for upcoming mobile strategy titles.
Comparable regional activity includes a wave of sub-million to multi-million funding rounds for independent developers building competitive and cross-platform games. Analysts note that such investments typically focus on studios with proven engagement metrics and strong monetization per active user. Hypemasters’ scale and player retention profile make it comparable to peers that have recently advanced from soft launch to full commercial rollout after early-stage raises, according to coverage from WAYA Media.
The deal marks another key data point in a strong 2025 for gaming investments across the Gulf and wider MENA region. Strategic funds and sovereign-linked investors continue to seek content creators capable of exporting intellectual property while adapting popular genres to regional markets. Hypemasters’ growth trajectory and upcoming releases are expected to shape investor confidence in the regional mid-core strategy segment heading into 2026.
