Mobility startup Weego raises $1.1 million led by Azur Innovation Fund to expand its MaaS platform and strengthen enterprise transportation solutions across African markets.
Mobility technology startup Weego has raised $1.1 million in a funding round led by Azur Innovation Fund, providing fresh capital to accelerate the development of its mobility as a service (MaaS) platform and strengthen enterprise transportation solutions. The investment will support the company’s efforts to modernize urban mobility infrastructure and expand its presence across key markets.
Founded in 2020 by Saad Jittou and Mor Niane, Weego is building a digital platform designed to integrate multiple modes of transportation including public transit, ride hailing services, taxis, and other shared mobility options into a single unified system. Through its application, users can plan, book, and monitor transportation in real time, simplifying daily commuting and making fragmented urban mobility networks easier to navigate.
The startup’s technology aims to address one of the major challenges facing rapidly growing cities: disconnected transportation systems that often require commuters to rely on multiple apps or manual coordination to complete a single journey. By combining transport services within one platform, Weego seeks to create a more seamless and efficient mobility experience for both individuals and organizations.
A major focus for the company is enterprise mobility management, an area that has gained increasing attention as businesses look for more efficient ways to manage employee transportation. Through solutions such as WeegoLines, the company provides organizations with digital tools that allow them to plan, schedule, and optimize transportation routes for their workforce. These tools help companies reduce operational costs, improve punctuality, and enhance overall employee commuting experiences.
The newly secured funding will be used to enhance the platform’s technology infrastructure, expand product capabilities, and support geographic expansion. Weego also plans to strengthen its enterprise mobility offerings by developing additional features designed to help companies better manage large-scale transportation logistics.
Urban mobility challenges remain a significant issue across many African cities, where rapid population growth and limited transport infrastructure have created increasing congestion and inefficiencies. Mobility as a service platforms like Weego are emerging as potential solutions by digitally coordinating transportation networks and improving accessibility through integrated booking and management systems.
In addition to its consumer mobility services, Weego aims to play a role in helping cities and organizations transition toward smarter, data driven transportation ecosystems. By analyzing commuting patterns and operational data, the platform can provide insights that support more efficient route planning and improved resource allocation.
Looking ahead, the company plans to expand its services across additional cities in Morocco while exploring opportunities to scale into other African markets as well as regions in Europe and the Middle East. The leadership team believes that integrated digital mobility platforms will play a central role in shaping the future of urban transportation as cities continue to search for more sustainable and efficient commuting solutions.
With fresh capital and a growing focus on enterprise mobility, Weego is positioning itself as an emerging player in the digital transportation sector, aiming to deliver scalable solutions that simplify urban travel while improving the way organizations manage workforce mobility.
