UAE media tech startup A47 has raised USD 2 million in pre seed funding to build an AI native news platform that prioritises verified, structured, and personalised information, addressing fragmented feeds and misinformation in digital news consumption.

UAE based media technology startup A47 has raised USD 2 million in pre seed funding to accelerate the development of its AI native news platform, according to reporting by Khaleej Times, which said the capital will be used to support product development, platform scaling, and early deployments in the UAE ahead of broader regional and international expansion.

Founded by Ali Rizvi and Shehab Gargash, A47 is building a platform designed to continuously ingest, verify, and structure information across categories such as business, geopolitics, technology, finance, sports, and culture. As outlined in Khaleej Times’ funding report, the platform relies on autonomous AI agents, real-time data ingestion, and multi layer verification models that cross reference multiple trusted sources before generating outputs, aiming to address misinformation and fragmented digital news consumption.

The company’s focus on verification and contextual reporting aligns with broader shifts in global news consumption. Research from the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism shows that trust in algorithm driven news feeds has declined in recent years, while demand for transparency, source clarity, and contextual journalism has increased, particularly among digital first audiences.

A47’s platform allows users to personalise how they receive information, offering formats ranging from real time alerts to longer contextual briefings. This mirrors consumption trends highlighted by Statista, which reports that more than 60% of digital news consumers worldwide now prefer personalised or topic based news experiences over generalised coverage.

The USD 2 million pre seed round included participation from regional and international angel investors, with Shehab Gargash joining A47 as Chairman, according to reporting by Khaleej Times. The funding will be used to strengthen A47’s AI models, expand engineering and product teams, and support pilot rollouts within the UAE before entering additional markets.

Beyond individual users, A47 is positioning itself as an infrastructure layer for publishers and content creators. Media organisations can configure editorial rules referred to internally as “Brand DNA” to ensure AI generated outputs align with existing editorial standards and tone. This approach reflects wider experimentation across the media industry, where publishers are increasingly adopting AI for verification and workflow efficiency, a trend documented by the World Association of News Publishers (WAN-IFRA) in its research on AI adoption in newsrooms.

Investment in AI powered media platforms has continued to grow globally. Data published by PitchBook shows that funding into AI driven media and content startups exceeded USD 1.9 billion in 2024, driven by demand for scalable information systems capable of addressing trust, accuracy, and content velocity challenges.

As A47 moves forward following its pre seed round, the startup joins a growing group of media technology companies exploring how AI native systems can support verified, real time information delivery. With pilot development underway in the UAE, A47’s next phase will focus on refining its platform while preparing for broader regional and international expansion.
