GrowthX put a combined $1 million into Hired Valley and Talebhub and moved both into Snoonu Startup Factory. Hamad Al-Hajri is recycling Snoonu’s stack around an AI hiring platform and a student-economy app. The split of the $1 million was not disclosed.
Snoonu Startup Factory is the room the two cheques actually buy. GrowthX, the Doha venture platform founded by Snoonu chief executive Hamad Al-Hajri, put a combined 1 million dollars into Hired Valley and Talebhub and folded both into the factory. The split between the two tickets was not published. Capital comes with Snoonu’s stack, operators, mentors and commercial network. Al-Hajri’s line was that money alone does not build companies. Founders need people who have shipped, technology they can plug into, and a market with room. That is the punch. Qatar’s first homegrown unicorn is recycling operating muscle into two early products: an AI hiring platform and a student-economy app. Hired Valley is led by Yerkezhan Zholdassova. It sells multilingual hiring and career tools aimed at global roles. The company cites a community of more than 26,000 professionals and more than 1,000 career outcomes. Those numbers are self-reported. It sits in NVIDIA Inception, has walked Web Summit and GITEX, and is tied to Qatar Science and Technology Park. Zholdassova said the firm was born from a gap in hiring and is now building from Qatar with a global brief. Talebhub, also written TalebHub, is Mesfer Al-Marri’s student stack: Taleb ID for campus identity, a peer marketplace, internships and jobs, events, and planned student finance. Jawlah’s note puts it among the top 25 startups at Web Summit Qatar 2025 and points at GCC and Arab expansion. The product is a campus operating system, not a single listing site. If identity and marketplace actually clear a term’s worth of transactions, it becomes infrastructure. If it is three landing pages, it is a club. GrowthX is not the US GTM coach of the same name. Al-Hajri launched it as a Doha hub with a dual mandate: direct pre-seed to Series A cheques and LP tickets into regional funds. Public material has spoken of a 150 million dollar fund size and a five-year plan on the order of 500 million riyals into startups. GRO, a Ukrainian AI fintech, already took a GrowthX pre-seed and parked a HQ story in Doha. Snoonu remains the operating mother ship. The factory model is the super-app lending rails and operators to younger logos. The MENA angle is the unicorn as utility. Gulf funds write cheques. Few put a live logistics and commerce stack under the founder the same week. If Hired Valley’s next thousand placements run through Qatar-based teams, and Talebhub’s IDs work at more than one campus, Doha becomes a product city rather than a conference city. If the factory only adds a slide to a pitch, it is branding. Caveats sit on the combined million. Two companies, one headline number, no valuations. Community size is not revenue. Student finance is a regulated product that has not shipped. Snoonu’s distribution helps delivery and grocery. It does not automatically fill a recruiter CRM or a campus wallet. Count paid seats and verified IDs, not the factory tour. If both firms publish a priced follow-on from outside the Snoonu family, the 1 million dollars did its job. If the next update is another ecosystem sentence, GrowthX bought optionality. Watch the split when it appears.
