About Zameeli
Zameeli is an Omani digital marketplace that connects small and medium-sized enterprises with local freelancers. Businesses use it to find project-based help in design, marketing, videography, content creation and social media management, and Omani freelancers use it to find clients. CB Insights lists its headquarters in Muscat.
Wamda reported in March 2024 that Tariq Al Habsi and Aysha Alqmashouai founded the company in 2021, and TechScoop repeated that account in June 2026. A Wamda report of June 2026, based on a Sharakah release, instead says Zameeli was founded in 2023 by Tariq Al Habsi and Mahmoud Tantora. The sources do not explain the difference. Al Habsi was described as co-founder and chief executive in 2024 and as the owner in a June 2026 report. The 2024 article also said the company was initially backed by the Oman Technology Fund.
In March 2024 the company ran an equity crowdfunding campaign on Mamun, an Omani fintech platform, which Wamda described as the first of its kind in Oman. Zameeli said it was broadening its investor base to include the community and freelancers, and that part of the raise would help freelancers share in the platform's future. The article did not state the amount raised. At that time Zameeli reported about 1,369 registered clients, including Omran and the Ministry of Information, and about 3,368 Omani freelancers in its network.
In June 2026 Sharakah, which describes itself as Oman's SME development company, extended a Sharia-compliant working capital facility to Zameeli. TechScoop reported that Sharakah was established by royal decree in 1998. The amount was not disclosed. According to the announcement, the money is intended for technology, operational efficiency and user experience, growth of the SME customer base and freelancer network, marketing, and expansion across Oman. TechScoop said the structure avoids interest and does not dilute the founders.
The company's website, zameeli.com, presents the service as a way to find freelancers for every project. No headcount, revenue or valuation has been published in the sources read.
