About Wateer

Wateer is a Saudi company that provides digital receipt infrastructure. It connects to a merchant's existing point-of-sale system and turns each sale into a digital receipt that is issued, delivered to the customer's phone and archived, with consent recording and data-protection controls designed around the Kingdom's Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL). The company describes itself as built in Saudi Arabia with privacy by design.

The product range includes the Digital Receipt service, a Digital Printer, and the Wateer App for consumers. Additional services include bank matching, which reconciles receipts against bank movements, and PDPL and consent management. Wateer sells to merchants and also works through partners: ERP and POS vendors, loyalty programmes, payment providers, banks, e-commerce platforms, kiosks, buy-now-pay-later apps, expense-management tools and open-banking fintechs. For POS vendors it offers a white-label integration, and a service called Wateer Smart Solutions that adds digital receipts to older or isolated systems without a software upgrade. Its site lists live integrations with Foodics, Retm and Onyx Pro, and references compliance with SDAIA data-protection rules, ZATCA QR validation and Ministry of Commerce retention requirements.

The company reports more than 25 million digital receipts issued, SAR 3 billion in transaction value processed and over 100 million products captured. In a November 2025 interview, Sharikat Mubasher quoted Majid Alharbi, founder and CEO, saying that Wateer began within one of the business accelerators launched by the Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority (Monsha'at), has operated since 2023 and covers 18 regions of the Kingdom. The same report says Wateer won the Into New Worlds award at LEAP 2024 and Monsha'at's Ebtker award.

CB Insights lists Wateer as seed stage and names the Flat6Labs Riyadh seed programme as an investor, with no disclosed round size; that profile is unclaimed and the details are unconfirmed.
