About Velents
Velents is an enterprise AI company operating from Riyadh and Egypt, founded by Mohamed Gaber and Abdulaziz Almuhaydib. It began as recruitment software, with sources giving 2020 or 2021 as the start, and was relaunched in 2023 as an enterprise AI business built by a joint Egyptian-Saudi team. Its product, sold as Agent.sa, is presented as an Arabic-speaking digital employee that handles phone calls, WhatsApp conversations, data analysis, order tracking, candidate screening, document work and routine operations for corporate customers. Company materials say it integrates with more than 20 enterprise systems, including customer relationship management platforms and payment gateways, and that Saudi clients' data is hosted inside the Kingdom. In 2025 the company also launched Safha, a document-processing product developed with the Saudi company Elm. Mohamed Gaber has said the idea took shape in 2023, when he saw that AI models are built mainly in English and that Arabic is often treated as a later translation that misses dialects and institutional context. At the October 2025 launch he described the mission as giving Arab organisations an intelligent worker that speaks their language and understands their culture. At LEAP 2026 in Riyadh, Velents signed an agreement with stc Bahrain to place an exclusive bundle of its agentic tools inside the operator's enterprise offering. Under the arrangement, companies in Bahrain should be able to order digital agents from a single local provider, with deployments meant to meet local regulatory and data requirements. Financial terms, the contract length and a launch date for the bundles were not disclosed. Coverage dated September 2026 says Velents already operates in Saudi Arabia and Egypt. Velents raised a seed round in December 2023, reported by Wamda as led by A15 with Nibras Capital participating, and CB Insights lists AUC Venture Lab among the backers; the amount was not disclosed. Sources differ on who led that round. In October 2025 it raised USD 1.5 million from angel investors, including executives from Google and BCG, to launch Agent.sa and scale its AI infrastructure ahead of a larger round the company said it planned for early 2026. Disclosed funding therefore stands below USD 2 million. The company says it has worked with Saudi ministries and a major bank, processed six million documents for a Gulf government archive, and achieved large efficiency gains in candidate screening. These figures come from the company and have not been independently confirmed. Gaber is chief executive, and Almuhaydib, who came from operations and mining-sector trading, is described as co-founder and chief operating officer in a June 2026 interview, while a directory lists him as general manager.
