About Veepee
Veepee is a French e-commerce company that runs online sales of branded products at reduced prices. Its French storefront lists categories including fashion, children's clothing, shoes, beauty, sport, home, travel, wine and grocery, and shows part of each day's sales before a visitor registers as a member. The company is headquartered in La Plaine Saint-Denis, France.
Veepee was founded on 30 January 2001 as vente-privee.com. Wikipedia names Jacques-Antoine Granjon, Mickael Benabou and Julien Sorbac as founders and lists Granjon as chief executive. The company changed its name to Veepee in January 2019.
Wikipedia reports that membership was invitation-only until 2009 and that Veepee started international expansion through subsidiaries in 2006. In 2016 it acquired Vente-Exclusive in the Benelux, Privalia (Spain, Italy, Brazil and Mexico), Eboutic.ch in Switzerland, Designers and Friends in Denmark and Zlote Wyprzedaze in Poland. In 2017 it announced an 80 million euro research and development investment and opened the Veepee Impulse accelerator at Station F. In 2019 it sold Privalia Mexico to Grupo Axo and closed its UK consumer business. The French Wikipedia entry says the company has sister companies in Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy and Spain and a subsidiary in Switzerland, and that it also operates a travel business, Veepee Voyage.
The French Wikipedia entry lists Summit Partners, which bought 20 percent in July 2007, and Qatar Investment Authority, a minority shareholder since January 2014, as investors. It does not give the current split of capital.
FashionUnited reported in May 2025 that Veepee opened a third office in Madrid, in addition to sites in Barcelona and Seville, and gave revenue of 3.3 billion euros for 2024; French Wikipedia gives 3.2 billion euros including tax for the same year. The same article names Anja Brehm as managing director of Veepee in Spain. A TechScoop article of 13 September 2026 mentions Ilan Benhaim of Veepee among the backers of the Moroccan accounting startup Charikaty.
