About Tanami

Tanami is a Bahrain-born private-markets platform based in Manama. It offers eligible investors access to private equity, private credit, real estate and infrastructure funds, and has historically named managers such as KKR, Blackstone, Brookfield and Carlyle. Funds carry quarterly liquidity, and minimum tickets were once advertised at around USD 5,000. The company was founded in December 2023 by Dr Nawaf Almaskati, who leads the Saudi entity, and Faisal Aljalahma, chief executive of Tanami Bahrain. Some coverage spells the first surname Al Maskati and gives his title as managing director. Tanami launched in Bahrain under the supervision of the Central Bank of Bahrain and obtained an Investment Business Firm Category 2 licence in October 2025, which allows it to offer regulated private-market products to individual and institutional investors. In 2025 it won first place at the 19th StartUp Bahrain Pitch, held on 23 September. SmartMatch, described by the company as the world's first private-markets robo-advisor, debuted at Singapore FinTech Festival in November 2025 under the Bahrain pavilion. It builds portfolios across private equity, private credit, real estate and infrastructure, offered in conventional and Shariah-compliant versions. Faisal Aljalahma said at the launch that private markets should be an integral part of every investment portfolio. BBK signed a wealth partnership with Tanami in May 2026. In mid-September 2026 the company said the Saudi Capital Market Authority had cleared it to operate in the Kingdom. On 15 September 2026 Tanami said it had closed fresh capital from tali ventures, the corporate venture arm of stc Group, Qatar Development Bank, UK-based 1818 Ventures and other unnamed regional investors. The amount was not disclosed. The company said the money would fund more investors on the platform, further development of its digital investment platform, and expansion into new countries, starting with Qatar. The Qatar entry is planned rather than completed. Tanami also won Best in Show at MoneySurge 2026, the startup competition alongside Money20/20 Middle East in Riyadh, with a USD 200,000 prize. The competition began with 25 semifinalists, narrowed to eight finalists. Assets under management, fees and account numbers have not been disclosed.
