About Taffi
Taffi is a Riyadh-based fashion marketplace that uses artificial intelligence to recommend products to shoppers. Arab News described it as an AI-empowered fashion platform when it prepared to launch, and at the time it operated in Saudi Arabia with plans to reach the wider GCC and MENA region.
Shahad Geoffrey and Pradeep Bish are the founders. Ms Geoffrey started the company in May 2020, having previously worked as an investment analyst at Draper Associates. Arab News reported that the company first worked on business-to-business services and bootstrapped for a year before raising outside money, and that it joined the KAUST accelerator programme, which also offered grant funding.
In February 2022 Wamda reported a USD 2 million seed round led by Impact46 and Al-Rashed Group, with angel investors including WomenSpark and the founders of Fashinza taking part. The money was meant to improve the platform's technology, customer experience and client base. Forbes, as cited by Arab News, reported sales of USD 80,000 in 2021 with average monthly growth of 60 percent.
No later funding, product or traffic figures were found, and the company's website returned a not-found page when checked.
