About Soter Insure

Soter Insure is an insurance company serving the digital-asset economy, a market mainstream insurers have been slow to underwrite. Sources give its headquarters as Abu Dhabi, with operations in Bermuda and offices in London, New York and Dubai, although one listing names Hamilton, Bermuda as its base. It was founded in 2024 by Henson Orser, who is chief executive, and was incubated by Further Ventures and WebN Group.

Its products include directors and officers liability, professional indemnity, crime and specie cover, along with two crypto-specific risks: smart contract failure and slashing, where validators on proof-of-stake networks lose part of their stake for misbehaving or going offline. Policies can be priced in fiat and in native digital assets. On 25 March 2026 Soter issued what it calls the world's first Ethereum-denominated slashing insurance policy, developed with Galaxy Digital, with premiums and claims both paid in ETH. Cover applies to isolated validator errors and network-wide slashing events.

Soter holds a Class IIGB licence from the Bermuda Monetary Authority, approved in January 2025. In May 2026 it announced full authorisation from the Dubai Financial Services Authority, a Category 4 insurance intermediation licence that allows its DIFC-registered entity to work directly with institutional clients across the Middle East and North Africa.

Galaxy Digital, the crypto financial-services firm, led Soter's Series A, announced in February 2025 without a disclosed amount. Participants included Brevan Howard Digital, Karatage, Token Bay and Pharsalus. In late July 2026 Soter announced the first close of a Series B, again led by Galaxy. Coinbase Ventures and Franklin Templeton joined as new investors, with Brevan Howard Digital following on. Reports describe the Series B as targeting USD 23.5 million in fiat plus more than 500 Bitcoin and 2,000 Ether, structured in tranches, with a second close expected in the following weeks. The size of the first tranche alone was not disclosed. Soter said it will use the capital to deepen underwriting and technology, expand capacity and extend its footprint in key markets.

Because part of the funding is held in Bitcoin and Ether, Soter's own capital base moves with the market it insures, a point TechScoop noted in its coverage.
