About Smart Bricks
Smart Bricks is a Dubai-based proptech startup building what it describes as an AI-native infrastructure layer for real estate investing. It was founded in July 2024 by Mohamed Mohamed, its chief executive, a Forbes Middle East 30 Under 30 honoree for 2025 who previously worked at BlackRock, Goldman Sachs, McKinsey and Boston Consulting Group, according to the company. The company raised USD 5 million in a pre-seed round announced in February 2026, led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) through its Speedrun programme. Other participants were Techstars, 500 Global, Cornerstone VC, South Loop Ventures, Harvard Business School Alumni Angels and Cento Ventures, along with angel investors with backgrounds at OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepMind, Airbnb and Blackstone. Forbes Middle East also lists Sanabil Investments among its backers. No valuation was disclosed. Smart Bricks says its platform processes more than one million proprietary and public data feeds and uses agentic AI to assess supply, pricing, liquidity, regulation and risk across markets. The company says it surfaces only the top 0.1% of properties by expected risk-adjusted return and automates up to 99% of the investment workflow, covering valuation, underwriting, due diligence, negotiation, financing and post-transaction support. It claims this shortens processes that normally take three to six months to minutes. These are the company's own claims. The platform is aimed at retail and institutional investors deploying capital in markets including Dubai, London, New York, Miami and other major US cities. Rather than acting as a marketplace or broker network, it positions itself as the AI layer that ranks opportunities, supplies real-time market intelligence and executes workflows. A company press release carried by Zawya said Smart Bricks was the first proptech startup from the Middle East selected for TechCrunch's Startup Battlefield 200, and it has been listed among Onstage Europe's Top 20 startups in Europe. It is an alumnus of Google AI First, Microsoft GrowthX, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Innovation Fund (MBRIF) and NVIDIA Inception. The new capital will be used to scale AI-driven underwriting and execution, widen market coverage and deepen the data infrastructure across key global real estate hubs.
