About SkipCash
SkipCash is a Qatari digital payments company. It is licensed by the Qatar Financial Centre and regulated by the Qatar Central Bank, and TechScoop describes it as one of the country's leading digital payment providers. It was founded in 2019 by Mohammed Al-Delaimi, who is its managing partner.
According to figures cited in TechScoop's reporting, SkipCash serves more than 10,000 merchants across a range of industries and processed payment transactions worth more than 1 billion Qatari riyals during 2025. The company has not disclosed headcount or revenue in the articles.
Its funding history in 2026 has two parts. It completed a Series A of USD 4 million earlier in the year, which TechScoop reported under the headline of expanding smart payments across the GCC. The investors named in the follow-up reporting were Qatar Development Bank, Qatar Islamic Insurance Company, KBN Holding Group, Finjan Venture Investments and Doha Tech Angels. The articles do not identify a lead investor or give a month for the round.
Later, SkipCash announced a strategic investment from Qatar International Islamic Bank (QIIB). Neither party disclosed the size of the cheque. QIIB's chief executive, Dr Abdulbasit Ahmed Al-Shaibei, framed the move as part of the bank's commitment to supporting innovation in Qatar's financial sector. TechScoop observed that both rounds have been funded almost entirely by Qatari institutions.
SkipCash said the QIIB money will be used to expand its payment infrastructure, accelerate product development, strengthen its merchant ecosystem and launch new financial technologies aimed at simplifying how businesses accept and manage payments. It is also intended to fund expansion across the wider GCC through strategic partnerships. TechScoop noted that exporting a payments business from Qatar into markets such as Saudi Arabia and the UAE means competing with established local players and well-funded regional challengers.
The domestic backdrop is a fast-growing payments market. The Qatar Central Bank reported about 75 million payment system transactions in June 2026, up 21 percent year on year, with value up roughly 40 percent to about 99 billion riyals, and 15 licensed fintech payment firms by early 2026. TechScoop also noted that QIIB has its own payments ambitions, including a collaboration with Visa's advisory arm. The articles do not give SkipCash's headquarters city or website.
