About Sarat Ventures
Sarat Ventures is the venture investing name behind the Sarat Ventures Y Innovations Biotech Fund (UK), a fund for biotechnology companies with ties to Saudi Arabia and the wider Middle East and North Africa region. It is linked to Sarat Investments Holding, a privately owned investment company in Riyadh, which Private Equity International lists as a September 2025 commitment holder in the fund.
The fund was announced in London on 10 September 2025 through a GlobeNewswire release, with an expected size of about USD 50 million. The release said it would invest in biotechnology companies with strategic connections to Saudi markets and framed the fund around Saudi Vision 2030 goals of economic diversification. Allocator One was named as anchor. Dr Megan Yung of Yung Ventures, part of Y Innovations Group, and Dr Huda Alfardus, formerly of Healthgena, were named as general partners. Companies House records the fund's limited partnership, Sarat Ventures Y Innovations Biotech LP, as active and registered on 11 September 2025 with an office in Brighton.
In September 2026 WAYA reported that the Sarat Ventures biotechnology investment fund aims to raise USD 100 million and invest in 15 to 20 companies at Series A or later with commercial operations and annual revenues of up to about USD 2 million. WAYA named Dr Huda Al Fardous as founder and said the fund is registered in London and has partnerships with entities in the United States and China. The fund runs a five-year investment period followed by a second cycle about five times larger. Enterprise reported the same launch under the name of Sarat Investments Holding. TechScoop noted that the target is a stated mandate and that no first close or portfolio had been published.
