About SAL International Ground Handling B.V.
SAL International Ground Handling B.V. is a wholly owned subsidiary of SAL Saudi Logistics Services, set up in Amsterdam to hold the Saudi company's overseas cargo ground handling business. SAL disclosed the new company in a filing to the Saudi Exchange in June 2026. TechScoop reported that the Netherlands was chosen because Amsterdam Schiphol is a major European cargo hub and logistics gateway, and that SAL said the move would have no immediate material financial impact. Enterprise reported the company as the holding vehicle for SAL's overseas cargo ground handling operations. The sources reviewed do not give its share capital, directors, staff, registration date or any operating contracts.
Its parent describes itself as the national leader in cargo handling, logistics and supply chain management in Saudi Arabia, with air and ground cargo handling, multimodal logistics, and warehousing and distribution. SAL says it separated from Saudia Cargo and builds on more than seven decades of experience. In its 2023 initial public offering, the selling shareholders, Saudia and Tarabot Air Cargo, offered 30 percent of its shares and were to keep the remaining 70 percent, according to Gulf News.
The Amsterdam company is the latest step in a series of international moves by SAL. In October 2025 SAL signed a strategic partnership with TAM Group, which it called its first international expansion, to strengthen air cargo links between China and Saudi Arabia. In March 2026 it agreed to buy 100 percent of Aviapartner Liège, a Belgian cargo handler, for SAR 123 million, and its press page records completion of the acquisition on 2 August 2026.
