About Saee
Saee is a last-mile delivery company based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, serving e-commerce merchants. According to Dealroom and Wamda, it was founded in 2016 by Eihab Nassier and Tariq Alturkestani. The company began as Kasper Cab, a carpooling app for working women, and in 2017 changed direction to e-commerce delivery, using its existing driver network.
Wamda reported in January 2020 that Saee completed a SAR 9 million (about $2.4 million) Series A round led by Business Incubators and Accelerators Company (BIAC), with TasHeel Holding and ABN Ventures, the investment arm of Abunayyan Holding. A Gulf Daily News headline gave the figure as $24 million, but the article body and other outlets give $2.4 million.
In October 2021 Wamda reported that Saee was raising a pre-Series B round of $10 million and planned a listing on Nomu, the Saudi Exchange's parallel market, the following year. The outcome of that round and listing has not been found in the sources reviewed. Dealroom states that Saee was later acquired by Estimkan Holding and combined operations with Arzaq, a platform for small businesses; the date and terms are not given in the snippet reviewed.
Sources differ on titles: Dealroom lists Nassier as chief executive and Alturkestani as chief technology officer, while Wamda in 2021 called Alturkestani chief executive and co-founder.
The company's website returned a service-unavailable error when reviewed.
