About SABAH.fund
SABAH.fund is a venture capital fund run by SABAH.HUB, an innovation center based in Baku, Azerbaijan. It invests in early-stage startups founded by people from, or operating in, the South Caucasus, Central Asia and the wider Middle East, North Africa, Pakistan and Turkey region, including diaspora founders. Its website says it invests at pre-seed and seed, with tickets of $100,000 to $750,000, and often leads rounds.
SABAH.HUB launched the fund in Baku on 6 September 2024 as a $25 million vehicle and said it had completed an invite-only first close of $11 million. The launch release lists SOCAR, AIC, Moonwake Investment and Integrity Group among its limited partners and says SABAH.HUB was founded in October 2021. The release describes it as the first venture capital fund between Central Asia and the Middle East and North Africa and the largest headquartered in Azerbaijan; these are the company's own claims.
The general partners are Rahim Bayramli and Abbas Kazmi. Bayramli is also co-founder and chief executive of SABAH.HUB and a former McKinsey strategy consultant. Kazmi is an Oxford graduate and former BlackRock employee who co-founded Oxford Accelerator and BlackWood Ventures. The fund's website also lists a senior investment associate, an investment analyst and a venture fellow.
The fund names fintech, cleantech and edtech as its primary focus, and digital health, agritech, proptech and logistics technology as secondary areas. Its website lists 18 portfolio companies, including Aila, Hubpay, Aumet, Paypercut, Wellbees and Opteam. TechScoop reported in May 2026 that it took part in Aumet's $12 million Series A led by Emkan Capital, and in June 2026 that it was among the investors in Wellbees' $3.6 million Series A.
