About RightHear

RightHear develops an audio-signage system that helps people understand and move through physical spaces. It serves people who are blind, have low vision or experience other orientation difficulties, converting location information into spoken guidance delivered through a smartphone. The service is used in environments such as airports, hospitals, hotels, libraries, parks and workplaces.

The system combines location markers, a mobile application and a management environment for the venue. Operators can provide information about facilities, directions and other details that would otherwise depend on printed signage or assistance from staff. The approach supports independent exploration while allowing each site to describe its own surroundings.

Idan Meir is a co-founder and chief executive. The company describes its development of indoor orientation from 2016 and now reports installations in thousands of facilities internationally. Its service supports multiple languages, making audio information useful to visitors with different communication needs as well as those with a visual impairment. Venue owners provide the local content and infrastructure, while the smartphone becomes the visitor's interface to that information. RightHear's model links accessibility operations with the everyday management of a public or commercial location.
