About Reservoir Media

Reservoir Media, Inc. is an independent music company based in New York that owns and administers music publishing catalogues and recorded music. It was founded in 2007 as a family-owned publisher and lists offices in Los Angeles, Nashville, Toronto, London, Abu Dhabi and Mumbai. Its annual report counted about 100 employees at 31 March 2026, and its shares trade on Nasdaq as RSVR.

Golnar Khosrowshahi is founder and chief executive, and Jim Heindlmeyer is chief financial officer. The company became public in July 2021 through a business combination with the special purpose acquisition company Roth CH Acquisition Co. II. It reports two segments, music publishing and recorded music. Its labels include Chrysalis Records, Tommy Boy Music and Philly Groove Records.

Reservoir has grown largely through catalogue purchases, among them the Henry Jackman film-score catalogue in March 2022 and the Miles Davis publishing catalogue in September 2025. In the year to March 2026 it also bought the Musicraft Entertainment catalogue through its Mumbai-based PopIndia subsidiary, and expanded its relationship with Fool's Gold Records.

In the Middle East and North Africa it works through PopArabia in Abu Dhabi, in which it announced an investment in February 2020. Its annual report describes a controlling stake acquired in January 2020. PopArabia and Reservoir formed a joint venture with the Saudi label Mashrex in June 2023, and PopArabia bought Viral Wave in April 2026.

For the year ended 31 March 2026, announced on 28 May 2026, Reservoir reported revenue of $175.7 million, up 11 percent from $158.7 million, net income of $7.8 million and adjusted EBITDA of $73.6 million. Publishing contributed $116.8 million and recorded music $51.5 million.

In February and March 2026 the company received two unsolicited, non-binding proposals: Irenic Capital Management proposed $10 to $11 per share, and shareholders Wesbild and Richmond Hill proposed $10.50 per share for the shares they do not own. A special committee of independent directors was formed on 4 March 2026 and retained Morgan Stanley and Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen and Katz. No agreement was reported in the sources read.
