About Red Sea Gateway Terminal

Red Sea Gateway Terminal (RSGT) is a Saudi Arabian terminal operator headquartered in Jeddah. It runs the largest container facility at Jeddah Islamic Port, for which its website lists 34 berths and an annual capacity of 6.2 million TEU. It also operates multi-purpose terminals at Yanbu Commercial Port, King Fahd Industrial Port in Yanbu and the Port of Jazan. The company says it handled about 39 percent of Saudi container throughput in 2024.

RSGT began operations in 2009 as the first privately funded build-operate-transfer project in Saudi Arabia, according to its website. Aamer Abdullah Zainal Alireza is chairman; he also chairs SISCO Holding, which the company's pages describe as RSGT's parent. Lars Vang Christensen became Group CEO on 1 March 2026, succeeding Jens O. Floe, who had led the group since 2016 and moved to a non-executive board seat.

RSGT also offers shipment tracking, a mobile app and an e-portal for invoices and service requests. In June 2025 it signed four 20-year concessions with the Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) for Jeddah, King Fahd Industrial Port, Yanbu Commercial Port and Jazan, and created a Multi-Purpose Terminals business unit with a stated minimum investment of SAR 1.6 billion (USD 418 million). No customer list is published.

In December 2019 RSGT signed a 30-year concession with Mawani for the northern section of Jeddah Islamic Port, which it took over in April 2020. In 2024 it took a 22-year concession at the Patenga Container Terminal in Chittagong, Bangladesh. It signed a non-binding term sheet with CMA CGM in November 2025, and on 24 August 2026 the two companies signed definitive agreements for Terminal 4 at Jeddah, a USD 434 million initial investment adding up to 2.6 million TEU of capacity.

In January 2021 the Public Investment Fund and COSCO Shipping Ports each agreed to buy 20 percent of RSGT for a combined USD 280 million, implying an enterprise value of USD 880 million, Container News reported. The founding shareholders kept the remaining 60 percent; the report names Saudi Industrial Services Company, Xenel Industries and City Island Holding. No revenue or profit figures were found.
