About Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship

The Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship, known as QRCE, is a centre of excellence at Princess Sumaya University for Technology in Amman, Jordan. Its address is Al-Jubaiha, Amman. The centre says it works to develop entrepreneurship in Jordan through education, recognition and cultural change.

QRCE was founded in 2004 at the university. In 2006 it launched the Queen Rania National Entrepreneurship Competition, and in 2009 it launched Jordan's chapter of Global Entrepreneurship Week. By 2014, its tenth year, it reported supporting more than 100 startups across Jordan, and in 2024 it marked its 20th anniversary with a mentor network of more than 120. The centre's website names Mohammad Obaidat as Executive Director, with Nada Jaafari and Lina Saadeh as programme managers for growth-stage and early-stage startups.

Its work is organised under three pillars: awareness and recognition, cultural awareness, and education and capacity building. Flagship initiatives include the national competition, now run with Orange Corners Jordan, Global Entrepreneurship Week Jordan, and the Jordan Student Pitch Competition, which covers 23 university campuses. It also offers a founder toolkit and a mentor network.

QRCE lists several partners, including Zain Innovation Campus, iPARK of the Royal Scientific Society, Orange Corners Jordan, the Embassy of the Netherlands, the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, UNDP and Turquoise Mountain. Current projects for 2026 to 2028 include Heya, a nine-month programme for women-led home-based businesses with iPARK, and a blue economy innovation accelerator in Aqaba with UNDP. It also lists an investment readiness programme with ASEZA under the Aqaba Sword-Fish Fund and an ASEZA sandbox challenge.

The website reports more than 1,500 startups supported, more than 10,000 entrepreneurs trained and more than 70,000 participants in Global Entrepreneurship Week Jordan in 2025. These figures are the centre's own.
