About PwC

PwC is a global network of professional services firms that provide assurance, tax and legal, and advisory services. Member firms are separate legal entities; the network's brand, strategy and common standards are overseen by PricewaterhouseCoopers International Limited, a London-based private company limited by guarantee. Its Middle East firm is headquartered in Riyadh.

The network traces its roots to accountancy practices founded in London by Samuel Lowell Price in 1849 and William Cooper in 1854. Price went into partnership with Edwin Waterhouse in 1865, and Price Waterhouse merged with Coopers & Lybrand in 1998 to form PricewaterhouseCoopers. The name was shortened to PwC in 2010. Mohamed Kande is global chairman.

In the year to 30 June 2025 PwC firms reported gross revenues of $56.9 billion, up 2.7 percent in local currency, with about 364,000 people. Advisory brought in $24.3 billion, assurance $19.8 billion and tax and legal $12.7 billion. The network said it invested $3.1 billion that year, nearly $1.5 billion of it in AI capabilities, and made 12 acquisitions and investments. Strategy& is its strategy consulting business, which operates in Saudi Arabia.

PwC Middle East employs about 12,000 people across 12 countries. In Saudi Arabia it has more than 2,600 staff in five offices, and in September 2025 it announced a 22,400 square metre regional headquarters in Laysen Valley, Riyadh, with an experience centre and a forensics lab. It said more than 2,400 Saudi nationals had joined through its training programmes in three years. Riyadh Al Najjar, its Middle East chairman and Saudi country senior partner, was elected to the PwC Global Board in 2025. Hani Ashkar led the Middle East firm as senior partner for about 12 years, and PwC UK managing partner Laura Hinton began sharing leadership of the region with him from October 2025.

In 2026 PwC Middle East opened a Google Cloud AI Experience Zone at its Laysen Valley headquarters, where clients can try AI agents and workflows built by PwC and Google Cloud on Gemini Enterprise. PwC's 2026 AI Performance Study found Saudi companies reporting larger operating gains from AI than the global average.
