About Office of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications
The Office of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications is a United Arab Emirates federal government body. Its name matches the portfolio of the Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, a post that the Cabinet member list on the UAE government portal shows held by Omar bin Sultan Al Olama. In June 2026 Gulf News and TechScoop reported that it is one of three bodies combined into the new Federal Authority for Artificial Intelligence and Data; Gulf News called it the UAE's Artificial Intelligence Office.
According to Wikipedia, the UAE appointed Mr Al Olama as Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence on 20 October 2017, and his title was expanded to include the digital economy and remote work applications on 11 July 2020.
The UAE government portal states that the UAE Strategy for Artificial Intelligence aims to make the country a world leader in AI by 2031. It describes the UAE Artificial Intelligence Office as co-coordinating, with the Dubai International Financial Centre, an AI and coding licence.
