About Nokia

Nokia Corporation is a Finnish public limited company that supplies network infrastructure for fixed, mobile and transport networks, combining hardware, software and services with the licensing of intellectual property, including patents and the Nokia brand. It is domiciled in Helsinki, with its operational headquarters in Espoo, and is listed on Nasdaq Helsinki and, as American depositary shares under the ticker NOK, on the New York Stock Exchange.

The company traces its history to a pulp mill set up in Tampere in 1865, and the present Nokia Corporation was formed in 1967 by a merger of Nokia, Kaapelitehdas and Finnish Rubber Works. Justin Hotard is president and chief executive, and Marco Wirén is chief financial officer. For 2025 the board chair was Sari Baldauf and the vice chair Timo Ihamuotila.

Nokia's radio access offering includes its anyRAN approach to Cloud RAN and its AirScale baseband. In March 2017 it signed a memorandum of understanding with stc to develop 5G and Internet of Things use cases.

Nokia completed its acquisition of the optical networking supplier Infinera, based in San Jose, California, on 28 February 2025. Total consideration was EUR 2.5 billion, paid in cash, assumed convertible notes and new Nokia shares. On 28 October 2025 Nvidia announced it would invest $1 billion in Nokia at $6.01 a share and partner on AI-based radio access networks. Nokia will make its 5G and 6G RAN software available on Nvidia's CUDA platform, and T-Mobile US expects to begin trials in 2026.

For 2025 Nokia reported net sales of EUR 19.9 billion, up from EUR 19.2 billion in 2024, and profit attributable to shareholders of EUR 651 million, against EUR 1.28 billion a year earlier. Its Form 20-F gives an average of 78,005 employees in 2025.

In Saudi Arabia, TechScoop reported on 1 September 2026 that Nokia had opened a research and development centre in Riyadh during LEAP 2026, focused on AI-native network automation software, including service management and orchestration and self-organising networks. It also signed memoranda of understanding with Mobily on AI for network efficiency and with Zain KSA on workforce development.
