About National Center for Industrial and Mining Information
The National Center for Industrial and Mining Information is a Saudi government centre that handles industrial and mining data. Saudipedia says it was set up by a ministerial decision of the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources and does not give the date of that decision. The initiative was first adopted under the National Transformation Program and later moved to the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program.
Saudipedia lists the centre's aims as becoming a trusted source of industrial and mining knowledge in Saudi Arabia, supporting an integrated and competitive sector, improving market transparency and building the confidence of investors and decision-makers. Its duties include setting policies and plans for industrial and mining information, proposing draft legislation, collecting, classifying and verifying data from relevant entities and projects, gathering data on national products, materials, imports and future demand, standardising product coding, and building an industrial database linked to a unified electronic registry.
Saudipedia names six initiatives under the programme: the establishment and operation of the centre, analysis and foresight for industrial and mining information, a digital services platform for industrial investors, an electronic marketplace for industrial products, national product coding and a national product registry.
In June 2026 TechScoop cited a report from the centre as the source of the ministry's April figures of 322 new industrial licences and 188 factories entering production. Oxford Business Group reported in its 2025 Saudi Arabia report that a National Industrial Information Centre launched new data dashboards in 2025 to improve market transparency; that report uses a different name from the one used here, and the two may refer to the same body.
