About Nahdet Misr Group
Nahdet Misr Group is an Egyptian publisher and education company based in Cairo. Coverage uses Nahdet Misr Group, Nahdet Misr Publishing Group and Nahdet Misr Publishing House for the same business, and the profile treats them as one.
The company dates its start to 1938. A profile from the Sheikh Zayed Book Award, which Nahdet Misr won in 2010 in the publishing and technology category, said it distributed its titles to more than 3,000 bookstores in Egypt and was the exclusive agent for Cambridge University Press and the Encyclopaedia Britannica Online School Edition. Dalia Ibrahim is chief executive. The award profile describes it as a publisher, printer and multimedia organisation known for educational and children's books, with fiction and non-fiction for adults.
When Egypt began its Education 2.0 reforms in 2017, the Ministry of Education and Technical Education commissioned Nahdet Misr to write new textbooks for Arabic, for Values and Respect for Others, and for Christianity and Islam. A 2025 academic book published by Open Book Publishers includes an interview with Ibrahim and with Dahlia Fouad, the director of educational content and translation.
In November 2017 the group launched EdVentures, described by Wamda as Egypt's first corporate venture capital firm specialising in education technology. In December 2017 it announced an investment fund for education and edtech startups at the RiseUp summit. EdVentures was set up with technical support from USAID's SEED project and a partnership with the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology. In May 2020 EdVentures put 180,000 dollars into EYouth, a Cairo social enterprise, in a seed round. EdVentures runs incubation, acceleration and investment programmes, and its website lists portfolio companies including Greenish, Entreprenelle and Career 180.
In June 2026 TechScoop reported that EdVentures runs the third EdTech Fellowship with the Mastercard Foundation, which 13 Egyptian startups joined. On 19 October 2026 EdVentures, Nahdet Misr Group and Entlaq released the Education and EdTech Landscape Report 2026. The group's own website could not be read, so no revenue or headcount figures are included.
