About Mubawab

Mubawab is an online real estate portal for Morocco and Tunisia, with a site for each country at mubawab.ma and mubawab.tn. It connects people looking to buy or rent property with private owners and professionals, including agencies and developers, and is available in French, Arabic, English, Spanish, Italian and Dutch. In October 2026 its Moroccan site showed about 108,951 properties and its Tunisian site 41,321. The company says it receives more than two million visits a month.

Mubawab states that it was established in Morocco in 2012, while a 2018 report dates its founding to 2011 and names Kevin Gormand and Toni Puig as founders. That report described the company as headquartered in Casablanca. Gormand is described as the founder, and trade press says he appointed himself chairman of the group in January 2024. The same report says Zineb Bouayad took charge of operations in Morocco, Anis Gharbie oversees Tunisia and Abderra El Haitout is chief technology officer.

Beyond listings, the site offers a property price estimator, a directory for professionals, the Mubawab Awards, iOS and Android apps, and MIA, an AI assistant that supports voice interaction. Trade press reported in May 2025 that automated listing management, price estimates and a recommendation engine had been introduced. In Morocco Mubawab competes with Avito, and in Tunisia with Tayara.

Emerging Markets Property Group, now Dubizzle Group, announced on 25 May 2018 that it had acquired Mubawab, and reports say it bought 51 percent. In June 2019 Mubawab bought Jumia House, the real estate portal of the e-commerce company Jumia, which extended it to Tunisia; the price was not disclosed. In 2021 Dubizzle Group announced a USD 10 million investment in the portal.

In May 2025 a LinkedIn announcement reported by OnlineMarketplaces named Africa Property Portals as Mubawab's new majority shareholder and parent. The terms were not disclosed, and Dubizzle Group had not confirmed that it had sold its stake. Mubawab's website says it belongs to Africa Property Portals Group, a holding company that creates real estate portals in Africa.
