About Moneymoon
Moneymoon (موني مون) is a Saudi financial technology company that runs a peer-to-peer lending platform, connecting individuals who need short-term cash with individual investors willing to fund them. The company says it was founded in 2023 and describes itself as the first Saudi platform, and the first in the region, that lets one person finance another.
Moneymoon operates under the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) regulatory sandbox, where it is authorised to carry out peer-to-peer financing activity. The company states that its financing structure is based on murabaha and that it is approved by a Sharia committee.
For borrowers, the app offers what the company calls instant financing of SAR 1,000 to SAR 5,000, repaid in four instalments. The process has three steps: the borrower chooses an amount, signs an electronic contract, and an investor funds the request, with the money then transferred to the borrower's account. The website says no supporting documents are required and that approval is immediate.
For investors, the platform offers monthly investment opportunities in which a person funds other individuals' financing requests and receives their capital back with a return, over periods starting from one month. Investors choose an opportunity listed in the app, enter their account details and fund the loan.
The company says it uses machine learning to assess credit risk, with the aim of balancing approval speed against the protection of investors' funds. Its site also has sections on risk management, Sharia compliance and training programmes. It ties its work to the financial-inclusion goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
Moneymoon's website lists a customer service line operating from 9am to 4pm and publishes user testimonials from both borrowers and investors. No funding rounds, investors, team members or user numbers were found in the company's own pages.
