About Mondelez
Mondelēz International is a confectionery and snack manufacturer headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. The present company dates from October 2012, when Kraft Foods Inc. was renamed Mondelēz and kept the snack business, while the North American grocery operations were separated as Kraft Foods Group. The earlier Kraft lineage is traced back to Chicago in 1923. Shares trade on Nasdaq under the symbol MDLZ. The portfolio includes Oreo, Ritz, LU, Cadbury Dairy Milk, Milka, Toblerone, Clif Bar and Tate's Bake Shop. According to the company's annual filing for 2025, biscuits and baked snacks made up 48 percent of net revenues, chocolate 33 percent, gum and candy 10 percent, cheese and grocery 6 percent and beverages 3 percent. By region, Europe contributed 39 percent, North America 28 percent, Asia, Middle East and Africa 20 percent and Latin America 13 percent. For 2025, Mondelēz reported net revenues of about USD 38.5 billion, up 5.8 percent from USD 36.4 billion a year earlier, with organic net revenue of USD 37.9 billion, up 4.3 percent. Diluted earnings per share were USD 1.89 and adjusted earnings per share USD 2.92. Operating income fell to USD 3.5 billion from USD 6.3 billion in 2024. Wikipedia lists about 91,000 employees. The group grew through acquisition under its Kraft predecessor, including the 2010 purchase of Cadbury, which the Irish Times has described as a deal worth about USD 19 billion. In 2017 Dirk Van de Put became chairman and chief executive, and the company's website still lists him in both roles. In 2026 brewer AB InBev appointed him as its chairman effective June 16, 2026, while he remains chief executive of Mondelēz. In the Gulf and wider Middle East, Mondelēz runs a regional office in the Jebel Ali Free Zone in Dubai that houses leadership for the Middle East, North Africa and Pakistan business. The company has a biscuit plant in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, which makes Oreo, Belvita, Ritz, Prince and Barni products for Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain and other markets. It also built a USD 90 million biscuit factory in Bahrain, described as an export base for the Gulf, the Levant and Africa, and operates a factory in Pakistan. A company release has said more than 1,500 people of over 40 nationalities work for Mondelēz in the region. Around 2021, Campaign Middle East reported that the company folded its separate Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa hub into a combined Asia, Middle East and Africa unit, with the Middle East business unit staying in Dubai.
