About MeM by CGEM
MeM by CGEM, short for Marocains Entrepreneurs du Monde, is the thirteenth region of the Confederation Generale des Entreprises du Maroc (CGEM), the Moroccan business confederation. It is dedicated to Moroccan entrepreneurs and executives living abroad and aims to help them take part in the Moroccan economy and settle businesses in Morocco.
Finances News Hebdo reported on 24 July 2019 that MeM was launched by the CGEM in partnership with the ministry in charge of Moroccan expatriates, and named Adil Zaidi as its president at that time. By 2026 the CGEM site and Le Matin name Karim Amor as president and Fatima Boussalla Idrissi as vice-president.
In a July 2026 interview, Le Matin reported that Amor describes MeM as a link between Moroccan talent abroad, CGEM member companies, other CGEM regions and public bodies including AMDIE, the regional investment centres, Tamwilcom, the CCME and UM6P. Its activities include networking, economic lobbying, mentoring, investment support and business partnerships, and it runs a women's entrepreneurship track called Ladies MeM.
The CGEM page for MeM lists recent activity: a delegation from Djibouti hosted at CGEM headquarters in October 2025, work with the Belgian development agency Enabel on mobilising the diaspora for entrepreneurship and jobs from March 2026, MeM Global Talents Connect alongside GITEX Africa in Marrakech in April 2026, and the launch of the Maghrib Belgium Mentoring programme in the Oriental region in October 2026.
A TechScoop article of 13 September 2026 names Karim Amor of MeM by CGEM among the participants in the February 2026 pre-seed round of the Moroccan accounting startup Charikaty.
