About MBC Group
MBC Group is a Saudi media and entertainment company headquartered in Riyadh and listed on the Saudi Exchange under the ticker 4072. Its 1H 2026 earnings release counts 15 free-to-air television channels. It also operates the streaming service MBC Shahid, the production company MBC Studios, the advertising business MBC Media Solutions and MBC Academy, a training platform launched in 2020 that the company says has trained more than 18,000 people.
MBC started in London in 1991 with the satellite channel MBC1, moved its headquarters to Dubai Media City in 2002 and opened a new headquarters in Riyadh in September 2022. Waleed bin Ibrahim Al Ibrahim, the founder, is chairman. Mike Sneesby became chief executive in 2025. Hussam Alnouri is chief financial officer.
The Capital Market Authority approved the listing in November 2023. MBC priced its offering at SAR 25 a share on 12 December 2023, selling 33.25 million new shares, equal to 10 percent of capital, for gross proceeds of SAR 831 million at a value of SAR 8.3 billion. The order book reached SAR 54.5 billion, about 66 times the shares offered. Trading began on 8 January 2024.
After the offering, Istedamah Holding Company held 54 percent, Al Ibrahim 36 percent and the public 10 percent. MBC's 2025 annual report says the Public Investment Fund completed the purchase of Istedamah's 179.55 million shares, 54 percent of capital, on 18 September 2025 for SAR 7.469 billion, or SAR 41.60 a share.
For 2025 MBC reported revenue of SAR 5,390.9 million, up 28.5 percent, and net profit of SAR 437.5 million, against SAR 426.1 million in 2024. In its 1H 2026 release of 10 August 2026, it reported revenue of SAR 2,284.5 million, down 24.6 percent, and a net loss of SAR 34.0 million after a SAR 210.9 million unrealized fair-value loss on its stake in Arabian Contracting Services Company. Excluding fair-value movements on that stake and on Anghami, net profit was SAR 177.7 million. MBC Shahid earned SAR 54.2 million in the half, and the company expects it to be profitable for the full year 2026.
