About Mamun

Mamun is an Omani financial technology company that runs a Sharia-compliant trade finance platform. Its website describes it as turning Sharia-compliant trade into an investable asset class. Investors fund short-term trade finance deals using fiat currency or stablecoins, and businesses obtain working capital against trade documents such as invoices, purchase orders and contracts. The company says it operates in Oman, the UAE, Bahrain and Qatar.

Saleh Al Tamami is co-founder and chief executive, according to the Oman Observer in August 2024. The paper's photo caption also names Ahmed al Issaei as chief technology officer and Mohammed al Tamami as chief commercial officer; Rasmal called the latter chief operating officer in March 2024. A December 2020 article on the OmanX Startup Challenge named the same three people as co-founders of Mamun.ai, a fintech startup.

Mamun's crowdfunding arm launched in October 2023. By August 2024 it reported more than OMR 1 million raised across 31 campaigns from 3,700 investors in seven countries. In March 2024 it concluded what Rasmal described as Oman's first equity crowdfunding campaign, for the freelance marketplace Zameeli. The company is licensed by Oman's Financial Services Authority under licence CMI051 for crowdfunding investment platforms, according to its compliance page. Ihkam Advisors, an Omani Sharia advisory firm, certifies its structures, and its Bayt al-Mamun programme carries a Shariah resolution dated 28 June 2026 confirming compliance with AAOIFI standards.

On 1 June 2025 Fuze announced a memorandum of understanding with Mamun to let investors fund trade finance through stablecoins. In July 2026 Mamun expanded its Hong Kong operations to build a Sharia-compliant trade finance corridor between the Gulf and China's Greater Bay Area, with settlements executed through Murabaha contracts. InvestHK had supported its entry into the market earlier in 2026, and Hong Kong institutions and businesses handle about 40 percent of its trade finance settlements.

Mamun's website, read in October 2026, states that USD 16 million has been financed through the platform and that more than 10,000 investors have been onboarded. No equity funding round for Mamun itself was found in the sources read.
