About Maktapp

Maktapp, registered as MaktApp QSTP L.L.C, is a Doha-based software company that builds cloud tools and online payment services for small and medium-sized businesses. It is registered with the Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP). Its best-known product is Fatora, a platform for invoicing, payment collection and online stores.

Saleh Al Mansouri has been chief executive and co-founder since 2014, and Waleed Alyafei is named as the other founder. The company joined QSTP in 2016, starting in its incubation centre before becoming a full member company, and Gulf Times reported in 2023 that QSTP's Product Development Fund had supported it. The Startup Scene reported that Qatar Development Bank, Qatar FinTech Hub, Seedstars International Ventures and 500 Global had backed it. No source gives amounts or dates for those investments.

Fatora launched in 2018. It combines an online store, a payment gateway, invoices, payment links, a link-in-bio page and, since 2019, a cashier and point-of-sale tool, with apps in Arabic and English. Fatora's website states that more than 300,000 merchants use it and that it holds PCI-DSS certification. Maktapp's own site also lists Taskat, MaktApp Credit, Zajel, MakVisit and Tendary, covering task management, payment gateway management, SMS, visitor management and tenders. In 2023 its chief executive said the company was developing artificial intelligence tools for e-commerce and billing and planned to expand to neighbouring countries.

On 27 April 2026 Vodafone Qatar announced that it had completed the acquisition of Maktapp through its subsidiary Infinity Fintech Ventures LLC, without giving a price. Vodafone Qatar's interim financial statements for the six months to 30 June 2026 show that the subsidiary bought 100 percent of the shares under an agreement dated 21 April 2026. They record total consideration of QR 2.1 million, of which QR 1.26 million was paid in cash and QR 0.84 million is deferred and payable within six months.

Vodafone Qatar described the purchase as part of its digital strategy, and Wamda reported that it plans to combine connectivity, fintech and business software for small businesses. Maktapp is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Vodafone Qatar.
