About Lugmety
Lugmety is a food delivery platform based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, operated by Sahm Al Mustaqbal Information Technology Company (شركة سهم المستقبل لتقنية المعلومات). Its website describes a group of Jeddah locals who want to bring higher-quality services to the Kingdom, and states a mission of improving food delivery with better technology.
The app lists restaurants, bakeries and healthy-food brands, and promotes scheduled orders, customer support and delivery through couriers. The site has pages for restaurants that want to partner with Lugmety and for couriers who want to ride with it. Arab News reported that Lugmety started by delivering only from fine-dining restaurants before adding more accessible restaurants and chains. Caplight describes it as a food delivery and restaurant reservation platform that also handles groceries and personal care. A notice from the KAUST community newspaper said the service widened its off-campus delivery to cover all of Jeddah.
CairoScene and Arab News report that Faisal Sadagah and Khalid El Moselhy founded the company in 2017, while another business directory gives 2014. CairoScene reported that Lugmety raised about $6 million from Saudi investors at a post-money valuation of $20 million, and said the money would go to expansion in Saudi Arabia and the wider MENA region and to hiring. Caplight dates the round to February 2023 and lists total funding of $6 million. No later round has been found.
The company's office is listed in the Al Zahra district of Jeddah.
