About LongRange Capital

LongRange Capital is a private equity firm based at 1 Station Place in Stamford, Connecticut. Its website says it was formed to take a longer-term view and to build middle-market businesses, offering flexible capital as a majority or minority owner, partner or structured-capital provider to companies headquartered in North America or Europe. Mergermarket reported in April 2026 that its sector focus is non-discretionary consumer, value-added industrials and data and information-based services.

Mergermarket gives 2019 as the founding year. Bob Berlin is the founder and managing partner; Institutional Investor reported in November 2020 that he launched the firm in December 2019, after a brief period as a partner at Navab Capital, which closed after the death of its founder Alex Navab. Michele Reing joined in October 2020 as chief financial and operating officer after working at Carlyle since 2011. The team page lists 16 people.

Fund I closed with 1.5 billion dollars of commitments, with the California Public Employees' Retirement System as sole investor at launch, according to Institutional Investor, which also reported 15 million dollars contributed by the firm's owners. Mergermarket said in April 2026 that the fund was just over 60 percent deployed and that typical portfolio companies generate 50 million to 200 million dollars of annual EBITDA.

The firm's website lists five portfolio companies: 24 Hour Fitness, Alpin Unlimited, Batesville, Pizza Hut and US Synthetic. Mergermarket reports that it bought Batesville from Hillenbrand in 2022, completed the carve-out of US Synthetic from ChampionX in 2025, and acquired 24 Hour Fitness from creditors in 2026. In 2024 it bought a 20.1 percent stake in Bakkavor from Baupost; when Greencore acquired Bakkavor, LongRange received Greencore shares, and a February 2026 offering reduced its holding from 8.75 to 4.97 percent.

On 1 September 2026 LongRange completed the acquisition of Pizza Hut outside mainland China from Yum! Brands for about 1.5 billion dollars plus an earn-out of up to 75 million dollars by 2030. LongRange's release says Pizza Hut has about 10 billion dollars in system-wide sales and names Eduardo Luz as its interim chief executive.
