About J.P. Morgan

JPMorganChase is a financial services firm that operates under the J.P. Morgan and Chase brands and trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol JPM. Its 2025 financial highlights give total assets of $4.4 trillion and describe a business serving consumers, small businesses and many corporate, institutional and government clients, mostly in the United States. Its website groups the firm into Asset & Wealth Management, Commercial & Investment Banking, Consumer & Community Banking and Technology.

The firm traces its history to the Manhattan Company, founded in 1799, and to the New York merchant bank that Pierpont Morgan and Anthony Drexel established in 1871. The Bank of the Manhattan Company merged with Chase National Bank in 1955 to form Chase Manhattan Bank, and Chase Manhattan merged with J.P. Morgan & Co. in 2000 to create JPMorgan Chase. A merger with Bank One followed in 2004. Jamie Dimon has been chief executive since 1 January 2006 and chairman since 2007. Its operating committee includes chief financial officer Jeremy Barnum, chief operating officer Jennifer Piepszak and Mary Callahan Erdoes, who runs Asset & Wealth Management. Doug Petno and Troy Rohrbaugh are co-presidents.

The website says Consumer & Community Banking serves about 80 million individuals, families and businesses, and gives the firm's 2026 technology investment as $19.8 billion.

In Saudi Arabia, Semafor reported in October 2025 that the firm had done business in the kingdom for more than 90 years and was opening a regional headquarters for its Saudi operations in Riyadh, where Bader Alamoudi is senior country officer for Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
