The firm invests in high-growth technology businesses in Saudi Arabia and the wider Middle East and North Africa region.

The Capital Market Authority licence shown on the website is dated 22 March 2021, and the firm says it began managing investments on 11 July 2021. It added arranging to its licensed activities on 24 February 2026. The website does not give a founding date. Yousef AlYousefi is chief executive and managing partner; the site says he co-founded Marco Partners and Riyad Taqnia, described as the first institution-backed venture fund in the Kingdom, and sits on the boards of SASCO and Catrion. Ahmed Demyati, a partner at Marco Partners and a former managing director at the Saudi investment authority SAGIA, is chairman.

Joa Capital organises its work in three lines. Venture capital and private equity covers direct investments in technology companies. Fixed income offers non-dilutive working capital through private credit vehicles. Arranging provides corporate finance advisory for mergers and acquisitions, private placements, asset disposals and listings on the Saudi Exchange. Ahmed AlSahli heads the arranging services.

In July 2025 the firm announced that it had joined a 1.5 million US dollar pre-seed round in Prop-AI, a Dubai-based real estate platform founded in 2023, in a round led by Plus VC. In September 2026 TechScoop reported that Joa Capital manages the Fina Fund, a direct financing vehicle licensed by the Capital Market Authority that is run in partnership with Fina and targets 500 million riyals for Saudi small and medium-sized businesses. In August 2026 the firm held its first investor day for strategic investors, portfolio founders and partners, with sessions on fintech, insurance, construction and real estate, and healthcare in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf.

The website does not disclose assets under management or fund sizes, and no external funding of the firm itself was found.
