Instabug

Mobile application observability, now branded Luciq.

Industry: Software & SaaS

About Instabug

Instabug is the original name of the mobile application monitoring business now branded Luciq. The company provides tools that help engineering teams detect crashes, understand application performance and investigate problems experienced by users. Its software captures information from within the mobile application, giving developers context that can be difficult to obtain from a server-side monitoring tool alone.

The platform covers technical issues, user behaviour and feedback. Current products organise signals into prioritised work, attach information for reproducing an issue and support a workflow from investigation through a proposed fix. Supported application environments include iOS, Android, Flutter and React Native. The product's history began with collecting in-app bug reports and expanded into a broader mobile-observability service.

Omar Gabr and Moataz Soliman founded the business after working together as students. Its early development included Flat6Labs and later Y Combinator. A $46 million Series B financing was announced in 2022. The official company timeline identifies the change from Instabug to Luciq in 2025. The rebrand represents continuity of the same business and product lineage, so Instabug and Luciq should be treated as related names for one company profile rather than independent startups.
