About Hint

Hint is a home management app for homeowners in the United States. A user enters a home address, and the app builds a profile of the property from public data such as property records, weather, soil, air quality, flood risk and utility details. TechCrunch and PYMNTS reported that the app launched on iOS on 29 July 2026. Hint's website describes the product as being in beta, with an Android version listed as coming soon, and names Home Hub Labs, Inc. as the trademark holder.

Hint was co-founded by Martha Stewart, Yih-Han Ma and Kyle Rush. Ma is chief executive and was previously a senior vice president and general manager at Red Ventures. Rush is chief technology officer, led engineering at Casper and was chief technology officer at Maisonette. TechCrunch reported that Stewart holds equity and works on the product but is not a financial investor. The May 2026 announcement named Andrew Serafin, Isaiah Sawhney and Joe Guglielmi as members of the founding leadership team. The company began in 2024 as a tool to help homeowners with decarbonization incentives before widening to home management, TechCrunch reported.

Owners can upload inspection reports, warranties, mortgage papers, insurance policies, contracts and invoices and ask the assistant questions about them. The app also offers maintenance schedules with push notifications, a home score, environmental reports and appliance guidance from photos. TechCrunch reported that it is built mostly on OpenAI's commercial libraries, with Google's Gemini used for image work.

The iOS app is free, with no subscriptions or ads at launch. The company plans a paid tier with premium features later. For now it earns affiliate fees from a network of service providers, which Rush told TechCrunch is kept separate from the assistant's recommendations.

Hint announced a USD 10 million seed round in May 2026, led by Slow Ventures. Montauk Capital, which incubated the company through its venture studio, Tusk Venture Partners, Amplo, Energy Impact Partners, Hannah Grey VC and Brian Kelly, founder of The Points Guy, also took part. No other funding round was found.
