About Godrej Industries Group
Godrej Industries Group is one of the two business groups into which the Godrej business has been owned, operated and managed separately since July 2024, according to the Godrej website. The website says the Godrej name dates from 1897 and that its businesses serve more than 1.1 billion consumers globally. The group comprises five listed companies: Godrej Industries, Godrej Consumer Products, Godrej Properties, Godrej Agrovet and Astec Lifesciences. Its stated activities are fast-moving consumer goods, real estate, real estate private equity, financial services, oleochemicals, animal feed, crop protection, oil palm, dairy, poultry and processed food, and facilities management services.
The two groups came out of a family arrangement announced on 1 May 2024, which the family described as an ownership realignment. Outlook Business reported that Adi Godrej and Nadir Godrej, with their families, would control Godrej Industries Group, while Jamshyd Godrej and his family would control Godrej Enterprises Group, which holds Godrej and Boyce and its affiliates. Both groups continue to use the Godrej brand, and the realignment was to take effect after regulatory approvals. Nadir Godrej was then chairperson, and Pirojsha Godrej, as executive vice chairperson, was to succeed him in August 2026. Godrej Properties' leadership page now lists Pirojsha Godrej as chairperson of Godrej Industries Group and Gaurav Pandey as managing director and chief executive of Godrej Properties.
In August 2026 TechScoop reported that Godrej Industries Group took part in a $9.5 million Series A round for Mitti Labs, a climate-tech company that works with rice farmers to cut methane emissions and water use. Aramco Ventures led the round, which also included Lightspeed India, the Cisco Foundation, the Francis Family Fund and Volta Circle, and which brought Mitti Labs' total funding to $12.5 million.
