About GENISOM AI
GENISOM AI, known in Chinese as 智身科技, is an embodied-robotics company headquartered in Beijing. It was founded in December 2023 and, according to its own releases, builds both the hardware and the software of its robots, from core components such as actuators to robot platforms, manufacturing, simulation, autonomous navigation, motion control and AI agent systems. It also has a production base in Suzhou. The flagship product is the M1, a medium-sized industrial quadruped sold in Chinese as 铜锤. The company says it carries about 30 kg of continuous walking payload, has IP67 protection, uses in-house actuators with a peak torque of 180 N·m, clears obstacles up to 80 cm and climbs 25 cm stair steps. The smaller L1 (钢镚) and its wheeled variant L1-W cover lighter patrol work, and the company also has a humanoid line. A related release introduced an industry-grade educational quadruped at IROS 2026. GENISOM AI says its robots are deployed in power inspection, petrochemicals, firefighting, security, emergency response and education, and that it works with more than 500 ecosystem partners. It also develops GSD, a self-driving navigation system, alongside an embodied control stack. On scale, Gasgoo reported that cumulative production passed 10,000 units, and Xinhua reported in September 2026 that sales had passed 15,000 units. The company says cumulative production of embodied robots exceeded 15,000 by June 2026 and that monthly output is more than ten times the prior-year average. These are company figures. Funding has come in several steps. In November 2025 the company raised an A+ round of tens of millions of yuan from the Ningbo Sensor Valley venture fund. In January 2026 it announced successive rounds totalling hundreds of millions of yuan, backed by AgiBot (智元机器人), the Guian Kunpeng Fund and industrial investors including Jinma Amusement, Keli and Highpower Technology. In September 2026 the company announced a Series B led by UAE-based Stone Venture (磊石资本). Chinese outlets put the amount at several hundred million yuan, while some English-language reports said tens of millions of dollars; the exact size and valuation were not disclosed. Other participants included Hongshan Capital, Yueke Finance, Wuzhong Rongyue, Wuzhong Financial Holding, Neusoft Group, Yuanjian Capital and Riying Electronics. Proceeds are directed to robot hardware, the embodied control stack and GSD. After the round, the company plans a programme that would open about 1,000 robots and more than CNY 100 million of resources to developers and universities. The company made its first major overseas showing at ICRA 2026 in Vienna. It also says a Nanyang Technological University team won the fully autonomous category of the IROS 2026 Legged Robot Challenge using the M1. The Series B announcement named no Middle East customer, order or delivery schedule.
